This new and larger Edgefield Baptist was completed in 1906 and the
first service was held on January 6, 1907. The formal dedication was on June 2
with Dr. George W. Truett of Dallas, Texas bringing the dedication message. The
Moller pipe organ featuring approximately 1050 voiced pipes was used for the
first time February 23, 1908 and is still played today. Half the cost of the
organ was contributed by Andrew Carnegie. (photo...circa 1907)
